Spaceopal visits Galaxia Business Park - The 20/09/2011Just one month before the launch of the two first Galileo satellites, the highest representatives of Spaceopal(1) consortium, Mr Francesco D'Amore (Chief Executive Officer) and Mr Christian Langenbach (Managing Director), have been welcomed at Galaxia Business Park. This day was dedicated to a business meeting with Vitrociset Belgium, which is one of the seven partner companies chosen to operate the full Galileo programme. Vitrociset Belgium has been chosen for its ground segment expertise. Later on, the visitors have been welcomed in arlon by Mr Governor Caprasse together with Idelux representatives. During this meeting the discussions have rapidly shifted towards the set up of a permanent center dedicated to Galileo programme foreseen on Galaxia Business Park.
(1) Spaceopal is a joint undertaking between Italian company Telespazio and German firm DLR Gesellschaft für Raumfahrtanwendungen (GfR) mbH, which has been set up by the German Aerospace Center (DLR) to provide operational services for the Galileo system. Within the Galileo operations contract Spaceopal acts as the leader of a core team of seven qualified European companies including Vitrociset Belgium.
