Dinner-conference : "Focus on the GALILEO programme" - The 09/05/2012

On the 9th May 2012, in Brussels, the SEII (European Society for Engineers and Industrialists) and the AGIF (General Association of the Engineers, Scientists and Academics of French culture in Belgium) organized a dinner-conference about the GALILEO programme, a satellite navigation system, competitor of the GPS in Europe.

Where does this programme stand? When will GALILEO be operational? What is the role of the Belgium Space Center of Transinne?

All these questions were addressed in depth by three specialists :

- Jean MARECHAL, CNES (National Center for Space Studies) - unit of European Programmes GNSS (Global navigation satellite system) of the European Commission ;
- Nicky CARLOMAGNO, VITROCISET Belgium - Project Manager ;
- Michel PONTHIEU, IDELUX-AIVE - Space and High technologies Manager.
